Washington D.C.
The Kennedy Center
The Kennedy Center installation in Washington D.C. was scheduled to have a special unveiling for the President of the United States. Everything was set and ready - that is until they realized that there was nowhere to sit! With such limited time before the arrival of the President, the project managers needed a solution that was quick, reliable, and managed to achieve the correct curvature of the space. Cast-in-place would take way too long. Other seating solutions would look shabby. Things were looking hopeless until Pikus came to the Kennedy Center with a long-term solution - 3DPG. They loved the idea and quickly started to get the 3D models. When everything was said and done, the President had a lovely 3D-printed bench that fit perfectly in the space. Everyone loved it and the benches were the perfect addition to the space!
